What do you search for when looking for something online?

When choosing a domain name or keywords to include on your website, you need to consider what someone searching for what you have to offer would type into search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.

For example, if you’re selling an ebook on how to train a dog, then it is likely someone would be searching for a term such as, “how to train my dog to come when called” or “how to stop my dog chewing my shoes”.

Using keywords such as “dog products” in comparison, probably would not do you any good because if you were searching for tips on how to train your dog, would you really type in “dog products”?

The bottom line is to put yourself in the shoes of your potential customers and think about what they would be looking for, and optimise your site accordingly.

Students in my Coaching Program are taken through the process of setting up their website in a way that is search engine friendly and one of my newest clients recently made a sale from her brand new website in only 10 days because I teach my clients how to get found quickly!

In fact, I ignored one of my website for months last year, but because I had it set up a particular way, people were still finding my website through various sources, including the search engines!

On another occasion, I posted an article about a friend of mine who is a very successful internet marketer. When I searched in Google using his name as my search term, my website ranked above his! I was very impressed with that accomplishment!!
