Michelle’s new experiment

I had a meeting with an amazing entrepreneur yesterday and I have to say, he’s got me all excited about what’s to come for me and my business!

Anyway, one of his many projects involves a way to have your own website built automatically (yep, it can be done!), so I figured I’d set up a Home Equity Solutions website to see what would happen! :-)

Also, he told me that one of the main keys to success and boosting a site’s ranking was to add regular, unique content on a regular basis.

This is so true. His suggestion was to add some content every week and soon enough you will begin to get found in the search engines.

Now, it’s been around 24 hours and I’m already ranked in Google after following the steps outlined in his tutorials. So I’m pretty impressed so far! It’ll be interesting to see how much traffic I’m getting over time and I’ll be sure to post my results!

What does your ideal client look like? Do you have any idea?

Understanding who you want your ideal client to be is the first step towards producing a marketing strategy that will drive them to you to buy your products.

So what does your ideal client look like?

Come and see what I’ve got to say about this at http://globalwebmarketingservices.com/online-business-tips/what-does-your-ideal-client-look-like/.

Is outsourcing your marketing services worth it?

For many online business owners, it’s really difficult to find the time to work on your business, let alone market your business!

But of course we all know that without marketing, people won’t know you exist, so it’s an important aspect of your business. But what about your existing customers? You have to look after them obviously, because they are more likely to buy from you a second time, than somebody new. You must keep this in mind when allocating your time and energy!

What if your days were already spent tweaking your existing products, creating new ones, or looking after your customers and there was no time for anything else?

That’s where Global Web Marketing Services comes in. All of your design and marketing requirements can be sorted in one central location. No longer will you have to deal with a web designer, marketing expert and freelance writer. You can even find somebody to help you create products - whatever you need, it’s all here in one central location, saving you time and effort.

Your time is valuable, so if you only have to deal with one person, then you are free to work on what’s important - and you may even be freed up to do what you really love - spending time with family, friends, or just relaxing!

Another great way to get traffic to your website

Do something that stands out!

I like to check on my site stats every once in a while to see where traffic is coming from and I came across a website where the author had written a post about my colour scheme of all things!

Not only did he talk about the colour scheme on my website (something about the “sheer pinkness” of it’s Wordpress theme!), but he also mentioned that I had interesting content and useful Internet marketing tips too.

So by posting what he did, a few people clicked through to see what he was talking about - more traffic for me!

So to the author of that website, I thank you for your feedback! :-)

Driving traffic

Driving traffic to your website isn’t as hard as you think.

Below you will find a list of some (and definitely not all!) things you can do to attract website traffic.

Write articles - writing articles about your niche with a link in your bio back to your website is a great way to attract traffic.

Submit your site to social and bookmarking sites - These sites allow you to submit the URL of a particular site or blog post, giving a brief description of what the site or post is about. Some even update whenever you post to your own website. Search in Google for other bookmarking sites and we have 3 huge lists of them and these will be provided to our coaching clients as a bonus.

Create podcasts and videocasts - Audio and Video are rapidly increasing in popularity. Using free audio programs such as Audacity, or uploading your videos to YouTube can quickly and easily improve your website’s popularity if you remember to let the listeners/viewers know where to find you!

Offer a free newsletter or report - Find a way to get people to give you their email address. Any updates you send out will then drive traffic back to your site. You can even offer free video tutorials! This is very important as it’s your way of collecting their name and email address and therefore building your list!

Pay per click - Google offers ways of paying for traffic. Using pay per click advertising means you are bumped up towards the top of the search engines (do you remember seeing links on the right side of the page in Google?) and if someone clicks on your link, you pay a price determined by your limits, the keyword and where your advertisement is located on the list.

Post regularly - Make sure you post relevant content whenever you can! You must keep updating your site to keep people coming back, and to attract new people. The search engines love it (well, experience tells me they do!), and so will the visitors to your website!

Ever heard of Twitter?

Twitter is yet another way to increase the chances of people visiting your website.

When using Twitter, you post regular updates about what you are doing, and you can send and receive direct messages with other Twitter members.

By posting your website link in your updates on occasion, you will give your website more exposure.

You can also set up automatic messages, so whenever someone chooses to “follow” (or see your Twitter updates), they will be sent a message thanking them for following you and you can even add a link to your website. So your message might be, “Hi! Thanks for following me! For more information on what I do, visit my blog at www.thefabulouswebsitechick.com!”

Set up an account with SocialToo.com , so you can do this and see at a glance who is following you and who isn’t.

Don’t overdo the “link-posting” thing, because people will just unfollow you if they think that all you’re there for is to plug your website.

Instead, it might be worth posting a tip or hint of some sort, followed by a link to your website. You only have 140 characters to work with each time, so keep this in mind!
