Online isn’t the only way to market your product or service

There are other ways (other than online) to promote your product or service and one way I like to do this through networking.
I love networking because not only do I come across people who can help me in my business, but I am often approached to help them in theirs.
The key to networking well is to be careful of the sales pitch. People don’t like to be sold to.
Of course when asked what you do, it’s important to have a short explanation ready. Keep it to less than a minute though, because people will drift off. I’m lucky to go over 20 seconds when explaining what I do because it’s pretty obvious what a web developer does (although I do elaborate a little when talking about the internet coaching that I do).
Be sure to dress appropriately when attending networking events, and have a stack of business cards on hand, in case the opportunity arises to hand them out.
Also, be mindful of the fact that first impressions count. If someone doesn’t like you, then they won’t give you any business!
What exactly do you want?

The first step to achieving what you want in life is desiring it. You must want what it is you are working towards to get it.
If you’re not exactly clear about what you want, then how can you truly desire it?
So here’s what you need to do in order to move towards success:
Work out exactly what it is that you want. Wanting “A million dollars” is useless because money is just a means to get what you want.
What would that million dollars get you? What kind of lifestyle would it give you? What could you do if you had that money?
What kind of life do you truly desire?
Think about that, then write it down, as though you have already achieved it.
How do you feel about sharing your desires with the world? If you’re up to it, please post a comment to inspire the rest of us!

I am pleased to say that my recent Internet Marketing Coaching clients have provided me with some fabulous feedback so far!
Most of it has been positive, and they have also made suggestions on how I can improve the program. I have already implemented the suggested changes which means my future clients will benefit.

Another great way to get traffic to your website

Do something that stands out!
I like to check on my site stats every once in a while to see where traffic is coming from and I came across a website where the author had written a post about my colour scheme of all things!
Not only did he talk about the colour scheme on my website (something about the “sheer pinkness” of it’s Wordpress theme!), but he also mentioned that I had interesting content and useful Internet marketing tips too.
So by posting what he did, a few people clicked through to see what he was talking about - more traffic for me!
So to the author of that website, I thank you for your feedback!

I am definitely not going to keep my price this low for long!

“…I feel like some sort of thief buying at that price…” is what one of my latest coaching clients said to me in an email last week!
I am offering probably the cheapest (but not the nastiest) Internet Coaching Program around and there is a reason for this:
1. I want to get my name out there!
2. I love to help people!
3. I am keeping the price this low only for a limited time. I will eventually increase the price.
4. This is a trial to see how my pricing affects my sales. I have been told that I should increase my prices in line with the quality of my program because it will increase my sales, hence point number 3.
5. My friends and family have followed my program with great success, and now that I have some coaching clients on board, I want to test how well the program works, as well as working out the bugs.
Actually, point 5 is probably the most important. I am offering this program on a huge discount because I want to iron out the bugs before I massively increase the price.
So in return for being coached at a massive discount, my clients are giving me feedback and asking questions which help me to make the product even better and this benefits us both.

Should I have a .com or is it ok to go with something else like .net or .org?

Filed under Domain registration, Internet Marketing Tips
Today I was asked by an internet coaching client whether he should go with a .com or was it ok to use a .org if his preferred domain name wasn’t available.
Here’s the gist what I told him:
Traditionally .com’s are seen as a universal domain name, used in pretty much any country of the world.
When searching for a product or service not necessarily from your own country, you will automatically assume the web address will end in a .com, right?
You won’t automatically go searching for a website that ends in .org, I can almost guarantee!
So my answer to his question was that without a doubt I would go for a .com wherever possible.
Now, if you are offering a product or service that is specifically targeted to a specific country (so in my case, Australia), you should consider a domain ending in .com.au (replacing the .au with your country’s code).
So for me, it’s .com all the way, or .com.au if I’m offering a product I can only offer to Australians.

Stay focused

I am one of those people who flits from one project to another and I end up going around in circles, never making any real progress.
To succeed in internet marketing you must remain focused. Decide on a niche, do what you need to do, then repeat - over and over again until you start to see the money roll in!
If the money isn’t rolling in after a month, then maybe you need to reevaluate and maybe look at a different niche or marketing strategy.
